Some of the country's biggest cities are facing hard questions about the delicate balance between motorists and cyclists as they consider how best to share the roads. Some have embraced bike-only lanes on busy city thoroughfares, while critics of that method say they slow traffic and impede motorists. Others prefer to keep bike paths off main roads.
