On 19 and 20 March the Dutch Cycling Embassy were in Tel Aviv for a ThinkBike workshop. The first contacts with the municipality Tel Aviv date back to 1996. Tel Aviv asked Dutch experts in developing a cycling policy. The cycling policy has led to a considerable increase in the number of cyclists in the city form 2 % before the plan and 17% up til now . There are now 18,000 residents who are communiting daily to work or studies. This growth also brings some challenges with it. The Dutch Cycling Embassy organized a ThinkBike workshop together with the local authorities how to deal with these challenges. The programme was rounded off with a meeting with mayor Ron Huldai and Dutch Ambassador Caspar Veldkamp.
