We've teamed up with world-renowned fine artist Renê Nascimento for a national bicycle photo search. The winning bike photos will be painted by Renê, as part of a one-of-a-kind series.

Renê Nascimento is most recently known for his critically acclaimed series "NYC Bikes" where he captured the essence of NYC streets via one of the most oldest methods of transportation—the bicycle. 

"The NYC Bikes series was one of the most successful series in my 25 year career," says Renê. "For this new series it was only natural for me to give back the community that initially inspired my quest to interpret New York through a different subject. New York City without bicycles is like Rome without mopeds, it just doesn't sound right."

At PeopleForBikes.org, we're all about promoting the beauty, fun, and joy of bicycling. Rene's paintings perfectly capture this spirit, which is why we're asking our supporters to participate in the campaign.

Here's how to enter the Bicycle Photo Contest:

- Submit a favorite photo of your bicycle taken outdoors, here.
- At the end of the contest, Renê will select a total of 5 winning photos. Each photo chosen will be painted by the Artist on canvas as part of a series of paintings.
- The participants who submit the 5 winning photos for the series will each receive ALL 3 prizes:

Prize 1: (1) 24" x 24" signed giclee print on high quality paper from the painting that was done using the winning photo
Prize 2: (1) Set of postcards of the complete series
Prize 3: (1) eBook of the complete series

The Bicycle Photo Contest starts March 21, 2013 at 8:00am EDT and ends March 31, 2013 10:00pm EDT. Must be 15 years old and over. Each participant in the contest can submit up to 3 photos. The photo(s) must include a picture of a bicycle with or without someone riding it. The photo(s) must be taken outdoors.

Winners Selection: The jury consists of the artist Renê Nascimento and 2 of his team members. Winner Selection Process starts on March 31, 2013 @ 10:01pm EDT. Winners will be announced on April 2, 2013.
